To My Cohort...

What can I say today? March third. 3/3.

"A date which will live in infamy" No that's not it...

"You are the straw that breaks my camel's back" Hmm... that can't be right...

"You... complete me."

Yeah. That's it. You complete me.

"Have your cake and eat it too"

It's your birthday.  I won't tell if you don't leave leftover*. ;)

What Jane Austen really meant...

My friend in the UK posted a lovely picture of her English countryside and quoted Jane Austen's famous line,

"What are men to rocks and mountains?"

I mentioned how funny that line is when you see NO mountains there -- not in her picture, nor in most of England -- especially compared to my own towering Rockies. (Yep, that's right. I've just claimed them as my own.)

So she changed it to,

"What are men to fields and trees and mud and sunshine?"

Well, when you put it that way...

Overheard in my office

Wendy and I were chatting and she typed out this nugget of comedy:

Yeah, I've heard of that idea before... it's the last half of a good idea/bad idea segment.

Candice, this one's for you. Or: I miss being thought of as funny by more than just me.

Last week Jeremy and I went to our niece's birthday party. Thanks to the awesome weather here it got all foggy and misty around 8:00 at night. As we were walking to the car, wading through the mist, I said:

This is how horror movies start.

Jeremy didn't respond correctly. Rather, he didn't respond the way I wanted him to. Candice, why don't you tell him what the correct response is?

My friends are funny.

While chatting with Clinton Heaps he pointed out this:

she'll probably be run over by a truck soon or something, pure evil can't exist in the flesh for too long

I have great friends.
