"X-Men Tribute"

I'm putting the Title in quotes because I totally stole this idea from another blogger. I thought at first she was a bit narcissistic (don't tell her I said that!)... but it turns out she's a 'fashion' blogger, and is supposed to take pictures of her outfits all the time. (Anyway, aren't all bloggers a little bit narcissistic?)

She's really pretty, and really funny. Her post was a little tribute to the "x's" in her life... or the ex-boyfriends, rather. I thought it was such a great idea, I'd like to do it here. For the boys in my life, I mean. I personally don't know her exes.

Dear BF:
You were dating a girl I knew, and the whole time taking me out behind her back. I thought this was hilarious, but if you actually thought I'd waste my first kiss on you, you're even dumber than you look. I could never figure out why you thought is was romantic to sniff a girl's hair like a dog. What's up with that? P.S. Thanks for the free lunches!

Dear Idaho-Boy:
You were my first official boyfriend. Too bad you were always too sick or poor to leave your trailer. I loved that you were so open and willing to let me date other people though, since you couldn't actually date me. That should've been our first clue that it was going nowhere... Oh, and by the way, your mom did, in fact, hate me, no matter what she told you.

Dear Chubbs:
You say I broke your heart, but what part of, "It was a mistake to date you" do you not understand? Thanks, though, for teaching me everything I never wanted in a man.

Dear Joker:
You were the antithesis of Chubbs. You came out of nowhere and were everything I wanted... (except for your mouth. It was HUGE.) Our relationship was great, but after a week you didn't want to try anymore. You broke my heart, but I will always be grateful for you.

Dear Geek-Boy:
We were never right for each other, but it was a lot of fun to pretend! I loved all the great dates we went on. I would feel bad for breaking your heart, since you were hopelessly in love with me. But then you said that to Jessie, too, so I'm sure you'll be fine.

Dear MJ:
You stole my number from your best friend and dated me behind his back... and I loved that about you! You made me laugh every time we were together. I wish I would've kissed you at least once. But you couldn't be there when I needed you, and couldn't be the man I needed you to be.

Okay, people, now it's your turn! Bring out the tributes!

More than anything. More than the moon.

I wish there were a 'dislike' button on Facebook.

+!

I've finally been invited to Google+. (Thanks, Jeremy!) I'm still figuring out how it works. I think I'll use this more than I use Facebook. (I use Facebook approximately never.) When Google+ is out of beta I'll be able to use Facebook just for coupons. Yipee!

You've given me Gmail, Gmail chat (which doesn't always work), Picasa, Blogger, and image searches. Now Google+. Love you, Google.

Are any of you on Google+? What do you think of it?

I Feel Her Pain

I see this women's magazine advertisement at least once a month, and I laugh every time.

(Of course, I'm growing too, but that's not so funny.)

.12 x 25 = super fabulous

I am a soap snob. I don't have to have the best but I do like having the cutest. When I was newly married I made it a rule that we would always have nice hand soap. By nice soap I mean the stuff Bath & Body Works sells. It smells so yummy.

Last March we started to run really low on BBW soap. But there just wasn't room in the budget for a run to the mall. Sad, isn't it.

For my birthday (back in March) my Aunt Jojo gave me a $25 gift card to BBW. I love Aunt Jojo.

I really wanted to run out and buy five hand soaps right then. But I knew the semi-annual sale happens in the summer. So I was patient. It wasn't easy.

The sale was going on last week. I stopped by the South Towne location. I got a great parking space. Always a good sign the shopping goddesses are favoring you.

I purchased three full size body washes, nine hand soaps, three mini hand sanitizer holders, and ten mini hand sanitizers. Without sale prices it would have been $91.50. Eep.

After the discounts from the sale, my coupon, and gift card I spent ... are you sitting down? ... three dollars. That's including tax. Three dollars exactly. It's about a 97% savings. Eat your heart out, Utah Deal Diva.

Aren't they pretty? Here, enjoy a close up of the hand sanitizers. You're welcome.

I spent an average of twelve cents per item. Rock on.

We should have seen this coming.

I read on Time.com that the state Department of Education for Indiana has said teaching cursive is no longer required. So schools in Indiana can decide if they would like to teach cursive. I haven't written in cursive since I passed notes in 7th grade. After that it was print or nothing. Even my signature is mostly print.

The article states that while leaving cursive instruction at the door students 'will be expected to become proficient in keyboard use.' By that I assume they mean typing. Although it does conjure up an interesting image of a fourth-grader using a keyboard as a paddle while canoeing up the Mississippi.

Yeah, probably they mean typing.

What do you picture a keyboard being used as?

Something I want.

Glass drinking straws. I love it. I'd never considered how much plastic waste straws generate. I'm trying to be more environmentally conscious. My little sister did a lot to inspire me while I visited her last month. She uses cloth napkins. I'm totally going to invest in some of those.

Back to the straws. They're not economically smart. I think it would take me eight hundred plastic straws to pay for one glass straw. But the environment would appreciate it after the first time.

If you get one or know someone who has one let me know how they are. Oh, the site where I got the picture from offers a life time repair or replace if the straws get broken. That's impressive.
